Hi! Its been an age since I've written on here. Its been a busy old time!!!! I've lost track of how many books I've been involved with, I'll try an post some of them up.

I just finished a little sketch for a pitch on a book and it occurred to me that every time I come up with an idea and do a little thumb nail, when I work it up into a proper drawing or painting, all the life gets drained out! So annoying! Are there any other artists out there you feel the same?
How do you get over it?

Here is the image. Tell me your thoughts.... ;-)

Ballet in 3D

I've been a tad busy these last few weeks. Here is a sample of a 3D book I've recently completed which is being shown at the Bologna Book Fair. Hopefully it will sell well enough for me to complete the rest of the book!

The Bears Go to Town

At last it's finally here! My favourite project of last year. A lovely funny story by Kay Winters... so much fun to illustrate and Nick Tiemersma, a super project manager. Here are some more of the inside pics. Enjoy ;)

Illustration Friday - Prepare

I got busy with other work so this nearly didn't get finished. I think most dog owners will identify with this scene. My parents have always had dogs with long hair and walk them in fields full of cows.....! I have been thinking of getting a dog recently, but with very short hair. ;)

Illustration Friday - Grounded

I did think about drawing a naughty child but it seemed a bit obvious. A grounded ship is probably also just as obvious...oh well. Hope you like it!

Burlesque-ish present

And now for something completely different.... I thought I'd colour my naughty lady. Not sure if I like it that much but you have to start somewhere. Happy New Year x

Illustration Friday - Sink

On holiday last summer I discovered a welly, or rather the top of a welly boot stuck fast in the side of a steep slope. The ground was so hard there was no way it would ever, ever leave that place. It made me smile to imagine the fate of it's owner and what the conditions must have been like to have lost it in that way!
